Welcome to October, now go home

I’m just floored that it’s already October. Where has the year gone? Why does it seem to go by so fast?

As time continues to march forward with such grace and speed, I’m finding myself way behind on some things that I’ve enjoyed.  I’ve been stymied with writers block, that I believe comes from seeing my subscriber numbers jump with such incredible speed.  I’ve felt like Marcia Brady in her first TV appearance.

Every time the red light comes on, my face glazes over with the “deer in the headlights” look.

I don’t know why I’m so nervous speaking to so many people.  Maybe part of it is fear of something I write being wrong, or offending someone.

I know I shouldn’t care about these things, but my mother raised me to respect the feelings of others.  Perhaps that was taken a bit too far.  Now I care about the feelings of others to a fault, and that isn’t good.

From here forward, I intend on not caring as much about the feelings of others.

Erm, ok, perhaps that came out wrong.  Perhaps I should restate that to read, “I intend on writing, and if I happen to offend someone, or if my writing is incorrect, it is ok.  I’m sure plenty of people out there will correct me”.

I find it intriguing that my response to some success is to crawl back into my cave and peer out from the darkness wondering if anyone sees me.  I know I don’t care to be popular or well known.  I know that I hold myself back from being successful.  Success always seem to carry with it a burden that just isn’t worth the trouble in some cases.

But in other cases, it comes with plenty of enjoyable things.

I’m going to do more rambling posts like this one, to try to break my writers block and grease the wheels a bit.
