Twas the night of Thanksgiving

American Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. The turkey, the yams, stuffing and desserts all seem to put a smile on my face and make me eat more than I should.

Yes, the food makes me do it.

I want to extend a hearty thanks to each and every reader of my blog.  I’m thankful for having started blogging almost two years ago, and you, dear reader, have made it very worth the time and effort.  So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being there.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the season without someone sending you a cheerful chain email.  But I won’t email you ever, unless you request it.  Instead, I’ll just make a post of it.  I thought it was a cute take on the famous Christmas story.  Hope you enjoy it!

May all peoples of the world find a day where they can set their differences aside and enjoy a little peace.  Even if only for a day.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone!

TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING
Author unknown

Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn’t sleep.
I tried counting backwards; I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned – the dark meat and white,
But I fought the temptation with all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation,
The thought of a snack became infatuation.

So I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.

Gobbled up the turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
‘Til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.

But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees …
Happy eating to all – pass the cranberries, please.

May your stuffing be tasty; may your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes ‘n gravy have nary a lump.

May your yams be delicious, may your pies take the prize;

May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off of your thighs.
May your Thanksgiving be blessed!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Ryhen, only if you don’t mind getting smacked by the girl your your with, lol.

I think Thanksgiving should be a world-wide holiday. For one day each year, people stop, give thanks, feast and moan from over-eating afterwards.

    Ah, to dream
