Top Referrers for August 2008

Alrighty, here we are, in another month and I think I found what I want to do each month.  I think it's a great idea to give some love back to not only those that comment, as I do on my site now with the Top Commenters and Recent Comments widgets.  Each month I'm going to share with you my top 10 referring sites.  Here is August 2008.

August Top Referrers Graph

You might look at the above graph and think, what the hell happened near the end of the month to cause such an uproar?

I was Stumbled, and I also started getting the hang of Entrecard.  I also had the help of some really nice blogs too.  Upcoming posts will describe my experience with Entrecard, as well as some other services I started to explore as well.

Here are the top 10 referrers for the month of August 2008.

  1. Entrecard.com - 366 Visits
  2. StumbleUpon.com - 275 Visits
  3. Entrecard.s3.amazonaws.com - 106 Visits
  4. Google.com - 70 Visits
  5. ThreeScorePlusTen - 66 Visits
  6. Arabesque911 - 47 Visits
  7. Demeur - 43 Visits
  8. Blogger.com - 33 Visits
  9. GarryConn - 17 Visits
  10. BlogLines.com - 16 Visits

For those that have been keeping up and perhaps visiting some of the other commenters sites, you might have seen Garry Conn's push to become #1 in my top referrers list.  This was so over the top it was cool, and in fact it even showed me something I wasn't expecting that you can benefit from as well!

Hey Garry, I thank you very much, but you failed mango.  What are you going to do for September, or are you just going to give up?  (Yeah, I think he likes being poked with a challenge...).  I don't care what Karen and Leslie might say about you, I think you're cool.  I've already learned a few things just watching you implode your blog.

That same challenge goes out to everyone of my readers.  How might you get a little extra link juice from my site?

Here are a few ways you can push yourself higher in this list next month:

  • Write an article describing what an absolutely hot, sexy beast I am (ok, this one was for my own ego right now...)
  • Promote the Blogger.com Help Series to your readers
  • Feeling cheap and easy?  Try sitting at your computer clicking a comment I made on your site and visit my site, over and over and over.  It may work, it may not.  The fact that you would sit there doing that however would put a smile on my face.
  • Promote the Blogger.com Help Series to your readers
  • Did I mention I'm a sexy beast?  (Still ego'ing...I don't think it suits me at all, yet there it is.)
  • Write your true feelings about me and/or my blog on your blog.

There's a few things you might do to pop on this list.  Of course, the best option is to promote the Blogger Help Series.

Cheers friends!

Do you get a grand prize for being on the top of the heap? Wouldn't it be better after stopping by and reading to just click on the ad links $$$$$ you know... Ka ching...?

@Demeur - Actually, you do! The satisfaction of knowing you sent more traffic to me than Entrecard, Stumble or Google. That in itself should make you feel quite proud! Other than that, not yet...maybe in the future? What would I give?

I always appreciate those that visit my sponsors and top commenters, however I have yet to give any of that a real big push. I trying to figure out how to without sounding like Garry (jab #2! Damn, I'm rolling!).

This is mainly to help get me 'out there' more and to meet new and interesting people. It also is a great thing to be able to promote the series because if the trackback works (it doesn't for blogger sadly...) you would get a do-follow trackbacks on each lesson you promote. I thought that was pretty cool and people would take advantage of it. So far, only a few have.

    I wonder why...

So can we call him Garry the guru? Is that who you speak of? He of great snot fame? Sweet!

@Karen - Nope, he ain't the man who blew (snot that is...) My guru is a mysterious one who hides in the mountains of Big Bear and only pokes his head outside when he needs to collect up the doggy doo.

Check it out mango: Any links must be entered as http://www.somewhere.com with nothing touching it. Anything else will be mangled. This is to help combat spam and to also ensure the masses know of this little tidbit before they click Save comment below. :) I have this down to remind me to do something with it, but I take things slow and easy on the old horse.

Keeps her regular don't ya know, and I wouldn't want to disturb that.
