Should I be concerned that America is going bankrupt? According to this report, each household will need to fork up $400,000 to help support Social Security and other programs because baby boomers are now starting to lay claim to their benefits.
What's more, do you think we will ever hear more about this from the candidates in the upcoming election? The video is from back in January 2008, and I found it quite enlightening. Here's a topic that I have yet to hear anyone address directly. Are the candidates avoiding it?
I throw this out there to my readers to help me make sense of all this. One fine day I'll say to myself "Self, this is one fine day, I think I'll retire". Well, it will probably go down a little differently, but one day I will want to call it quits and live like Gary, retired and happy.
Seriously though folks, this should be in the top 10 on the issues list for these candidates, but I don't think we'll hear a peep of it. They'll avoid it like the plague, just you watch.
The last thing I ever want to do is be the town crier, but some things need to have some attention poured on them. If the candidates cannot look us in the eye and tell us their thoughts, and provide a plan on how we can save America from going bankrupt, then they don't deserve to be up for office. Just my opinion...what's yours?
I promise this will be the last political BS post I write...really. Ok, I may get my panties in a bunch over something else in the future, but it doesn't happen too often. I swear. Really.
