Notify Me When New Comments Are Added is Working Again

Sorry for the lengthy time between posts.  As you may have known if you've been following along, there have been a couple issues around the old blog that I've needed to address.  Bugs are bugs, and they need to be fixed, especially ones as critical to the operation of the blog as the 'notify on new comments' functionality is.

Sometimes you just need to bite the bullet and hold off on posting while you take care of back-end issues.

Now, if I can only get AT&T to quit f**king with my DSL perhaps I'll have a night with interruption free Internet...another reason excuse why it's been so long between posts.

Onwards and upwards....

I think what the ISPs need to do is change the structure of the net. I know that there can be problems with blogger and there can be problems with the intertubes and you can't tell the difference at times. I hear that a good chunk of pathways aren't even used because of the structure. But then this is a whole other issue. As for the email thing I don't use it because it doesn't work for me and not just on your site.

@Demeur - Sorry to hear you have issues with the email comment control. It's actually quite handy when you find a conversation that you want to keep tabs on. Of course, as I think you might have said in a prior post, if it is worth reading, you'll come back.

As for AT&T, they just lost my business. I'm picking up Time-Warner cable for my home internet service. They appear to have higher bandwidth numbers than AT&T, which will mean faster service...I only hope.

Valid reasons or lame excuses, one thing remains the same: the phone company WILL find a way to $%@## with you.

I kinda agree with ya on the AT&T synopsis---I live in Sherman Oaks, and can't get dsl??-----unfortunately Time Warner just took over the local cable system which kinda got totally run down do to poor management and who knows when they (Time warner now) will get the system up to speed.--to many blackouts and unexplained glitches to pay monthly fees for that kind of service now ??)

@Mike Foster - You know it. I really need to get that message out about how to drop links, and perhaps change the code to my tastes. My apologies for not having it up yet. Unfortunately, the best you can do right now is: http://www.livelife365.com/index.php?fuse=Featured%20Videos
    That should work. Peace!

@Gary - Well, I made the call and they're coming out Sept 6th. The place I want the cable to go however, is in an untapped room on the other side of the house. I have a bit of furniture to move now that I think about it...anyway. Let's see if they live up to the hype of the sales pitch. I'm not holding my breath.

I might need a new router...

Alright, I need to alert people to that little tidbit... Thanks for helping me work out the kinks and keeping me on my toes!

I find it rather strange that the S California market isn't more competitive as large as it is. Up here companies are falling over themselves to provide service. In fact all the companies are going fiber optic and I'm getting more offers in the mail than I know what to do with. There's enough wireless connections up here that you don't even have to pay for it if that's the way you want to go.

@Demeur - What I see are big companies gobbling up the smaller ones, leaving the general public without an option but to go with the Big Money corporation.

Wireless will probably be the way to go years from now, perhaps the only solution. Can we take those wires down off the poles yet?!?!?!

Check it out mango: Any links must be entered as http://www.somewhere.com with nothing touching it. Anything else will be mangled. This is to help combat spam and to also ensure the masses know of this little tidbit before they click Save comment below. :) I have this down to remind me to do something with it, but I take things slow and easy on the old horse.

Keeps her regular don't ya know, and I wouldn't want to disturb that.
