There are many issues in the world that I am sure most people will agree with me on. However, there are those issue that don't seem to get enough attention from the everyday Joe's of the world. Here are a few that are in the news today that I feel should get some logical attention paid to them.
A Cable News Network for Blacks
Before I get called anything incorrectly, let me say that I have no issues with Black people, nor of any other color. I cannot profess to understand how any other culture thinks or why they do the things they do.
Former U.S. Rep. J.C. Watts announced plans for a cable news network that focuses on the black community and people. The channel is scheduled to launch sometime next year.
I guess some people feel this is important and perhaps even politically correct, but I differ in my opinion on that.
Being Caucasian myself, I can't understand why black people would think that they need a news channel that targets their own culture. I think it only hurts people when actions like this are followed through. For instance, what would the world think if tomorrow I announced that I was going to start an all White news channel? I would be shot!
Tell me, when are we as a human race going to grow up and get over the differences that happened in the past and begin to act like grown-ups? This is one of my biggest problems living amongst you people. You talk about not stereotyping, discriminating or being hurtful to others, or to yourself. Doesn't this go against all that and degrade anything you may have fought for?
Tell me I'm an idiot and that I'm completely off the mark here.
A rare, un-contacted Amazon Tribe has been found
The amazon is home to many things still unknown to us, but people? A rare, un-contacted tribe has been found deep in the Amazon. The images are quite breath-taking. To imagine that there are still parts of the world that are unaware of how the "civilized" world is destroying the earth, day by day, is just unfathomable. Not to mention sad.
As logging continues in the rain forests, these tribes are slowly being exposed to 'civilized' peoples and destroying a way of life they deserve to live. We shouldn't be intruding on their space.
"What is happening in this region is a monumental crime against the natural world, the tribes, the fauna and is further testimony to the complete irrationality with which we, the 'civilized' ones, treat the world," Jose Carlos Meirelles was quoted as saying in a statement by the Survival International group.
The images are breathtaking and really conjure up feelings in me that I didn't know existed. This is, after all, not your everyday news bit.
The web site www.survival-international.org has a form where you can enter your email address to join their mailing list. Doing that, you'll be updated as to how you can help these tribes from falling victim to the diseases and possible extinction.
Get Mad People, Get People Mad!
Pray to your Gods, get off your asses and get pissed off. Are you going to let the rest of the world destroy itself for you and your kids while sit back eating your Twinkies and drinking your Pepsi?
The people running the world are doing so for their power hungry desires. When are we, as a race of humans (not blacks, not whites, browns, reds, yellows) going to take a stand together and say we've had enough? If every single American took a day off work to simply show the world that we are not going to stand for any of the nonsense that we see on a daily basis, imagine how powerful that would be.
Or are you just simply going to catch the next American Idol and let it all just happen right under your nose while you stare glossy-eyed at Ryan Seacrest's twinkling smile?
This may be the last time I say this because quite honestly, I feel terribly alone on this. All I want from this world is to be able to go anywhere, do anything, as long as it doesn't impede or hurt anyone else. I want to help the community at large by having a role that I'm responsible for. Not this daily work for myself thing that I do today.
I think the exposing of that new tribe has got to me. I'm going to pop.
