Brilliant! Bravo! I would never have been able to write what Steve has written about religion and the religious. Not as well as he has at least. The post, while slanted towards a rant, I think you'll find a perspective that is both intriguing and enlightening.
The 10 reasons he writes about are views that I have had at one time or another. In fact, I agree 100% with the ideas he puts forth. I have to say, however hypocritical it will be for me to say, the tone of the post came off as quite mad and frustrated.
I've been there. Many times. It's difficult not to start screaming about your opinions, when you're in the extreme minority on your view. The louder you scream, the more you feel like you might possibly be heard. It doesn't work that way though.
Being in the minority and having complete belief in myself and my abilities, and not confined to a certain pattern of thought, or beliefs, has been the greatest weight off my shoulders. I wish that feeling for everyone.
I cannot express with enough sincerity how much I believe in the ideas Steve puts forth, but it is perhaps a bit harsh. Tough love sometimes works well though.
