A little self-indulgence if you don’t mind. Jacq and I met while country dancing at DJ Ranch in Long Beach. That was over ten years ago, and after a year as friends, we decided life wasn’t to be lived without each other.
We aren’t married mind you, oh no. We decided to never get married unless there are clear financial benefits for doing so, or some compelling reason to change things comes along. Besides, owning a home together is paperwork enough isn’t it?
We have his and hers bathrooms and we don’t share bank accounts. We aren’t your standard family unit. We can say however that we have never fought. Not once. Mind you, we have each been pissed for one reason or another, that will always happen. But we pull through it and talk about things openly and honestly. I don’t know a single couple that can make that same claim.
We’ve traveled, been through hard times, and been through awesome times. She’s the sunshine in my life and I love her so.
Happy Anniversary My Love!
To celebrate, we decided to buy some rings to commemorate the occasion. We could barely figure out the original date of our … how do I say it … joining forces? lol If it wasn’t for a picture of Santa looking like he’s getting a little more from the deal while we took Christmas pictures at Disneyland, we wouldn’t know the date. The picture had the date on it thankfully.
We’ll be heading out to dinner tomorrow night, and that’s a little surprise actually. Well, maybe not. Ruth Criss Steakhouse has this 2 person meal deal that we’ll grind on and then who knows.
Sidenote, if you ever get to go to Ruth Criss Steakhouse, say “yes”. Your tummy will thank you.
We don’t have to plans to spring any offspring unto this world either. Kids just aren’t part of this picture. We get pretty annoyed with those that say ‘oh, you’ll change your minds someday’ if they don’t accept the fact. We honestly don’t want children of our own. Our friends are populating the earth well enough, and we find time to spoil their kids from time to time. That’s good enough.
This is also the first piece of jewelry I’ve worn for over 15 years or so, and I’m quite happy to wear this now. This was Jacq’s idea, and she was wondering if I would wear anything like that. I guess I shocked her when I said I would. She even paid for them! I’m a bought man now.
We consider ourselves a team, working together to get what we want out of life. We support and love each other, and that is all a couple could ever ask for. That’s all we ever ask of each other.
I put this up for two reasons. To mark the occasion, because I never thought I would be with anyone for this long. Second, to give others a look inside an alternative lifestyle that we believe more people in this world could benefit from just by knowing about it. We each maintain the highest level of personal freedoms, while remaining true to our goals and our love for each other.
She’s going to smack me for posting that last photo though…

A bit late reading the post, but congrats to you both. So lovely that you’ve kept the fire burning for so long. And it seems like you both share a great love of life and a refreshing view on the world. Great!
Right on Heff, I’ll be looking for that. Don’t think I’ve seen a pic on your site yet, is there one?
Thank you Tena!
that’s so awesome! You’re lucky to have each other!
Well, of course. After all, Bloggers ARE self-indulgent, LOL !
I shaved after I got with Jacq…she was worried I would have an ugly head (ripply and all…), fortunately, my head isn’t covered in fat like some are.
Congrats to you in January then! Are you going to toss up a post too?
Congrats ! Donna and Heff celebrate 10 in January, ourselves ! It’s amazing how these hot women go for old bald dudes like us, lol !
I go back and forth, trying to bring some value, and trying to be a human exposing himself slowly, taking each brick out of the wall and putting it on display as it were.
Thanks for leaving a comment Rebecca!
Congratulations! That’s a huge milestone! Thanks for sharing your story! I enjoy reading about a more personal side to the blogs I frequent.
Thanks guys, dinner was great. We both had a ribeye with shrimp on top. They came sizzling in a buttered hotplate, yummy!
TopJimmy, you couldn’t handle her? She’s a sweetie to me. We’ll be taking you up on that photo shoot, and yes, we’ll call it an Anniversary gift and a Christmas gift too.
Beautiful soul mate you have there. =)

As for the fist picture, “Wonder Twin Powers Activate”….lol
and I still have ten years on you and lived with her before you. And you can have it. just kidding congrats again and I like to offer you a photo shoot of the two of you as a …. aniversary?? gift.
Congratulations indeed! 10 years together, whether married or not, is a wonderful thing. It doesn’t matter how you define your relationship, so long as you are happy together, and it sounds like you are.

Ribeye it is!
I think you’re adorable in that last picture, and lay off the ribs will ya…I’ll never golf again…
so, this is Jacq here. Yep, everything is true to the letter that he has written. I love reading the comments and would kill to be at DJ’s and kick up a little sawdust as Wayne spins me around the floor till my feet rise and my hair hits people, that is just good fun.
Now, don’t get it wrong, we do have a great household, but if my “IT guy” fails to keep my “PC” functioning properly then his clothes do not get washed and the cook goes on strike…hahaha
Thank you for the post my dear, I love you bunches and since I bought the rings, I am expecting the BIGGEST ribeye dinner EVER!! I am getting dessert to
OH, and the last picture, you are right, you are a F***er for putting that one up…..hahahaha
Love U HoNeY…
Jacq
*the one poking you in the ribs when you are not looking*
Wow! Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts. Yeah, alright, I’m a big softie sometimes, and I know how lucky a bastard I really am.
If I could have Ramsey spin a song, what might it be? I always loved swinging to ‘I like trashy women’ or a good Hal Ketchem song. But our song has got to be ‘Just to see you smile’ by that one dude…what’s his name…Tim McGraw! Yeah…that’s a good song.
Thanks all for indulging me with this post. I can’t wait to get a big fat steak tonight!
its a hard knocks world, and to find a companion to go through life with is a major plus—-you both seem to understand that—congratulations.
CONGRATS you two! Ten years goes by fast, doesn’t it? I’d like to offer up a ‘brain hemorrage’ toast in honor of ya both. And a special dance from Ramsey Royce.
Look at how much smaller her ring is next to yours in the box…aww. I’m so glad for you both that you found your soulmates. May it last this good for you, always.
Much love!
Good for you two!
Aww look at you , you big softie. Congrats!
Congratulations! (You LUCKY bastard!)
Congrats on 10 years!! You 2 have an amazing relationship and really, that’s what matters most. You’re both happy and dedicated and obviously so much in love. “True love” stories are the best
