Ah, I see what's happening. A quick fix, and perhaps not the best, but something that might work is to try adding "margin-left:205px;" to your outer-wrapper div style. Like so:

#outer-wrapper {
-x-system-font:none;
font-family:'Trebuchet MS',Trebuchet,sans-serif;
font-size:11px;
font-size-adjust:none;
font-stretch:normal;
font-style:normal;
font-variant:normal;
font-weight:normal;
line-height:normal;
<strong>margin:0 0 0 205px;</strong>
padding:0;
text-align:left;
width:800px;
}

Hopefully this formats correctly when I reply.

I assume you know where to make this change. If not, just let me know and perhaps I can hop in there and fix it for you. Just give me a shout out for payment. ;)

I'm new to the blogspot world. I created a custom header by using my own photo and overlaying the blog title. I am having trouble aligning (stretching) my header to fit the column, so that the background doesn't show. When I make my image wider, it still aligns it to the same place on the left and just makes it look off-center. Appreciate any advice you can offer!

Thanks for the header changing info. One thing I like to do is make a screen grab of the blog first and play around with the header design while taking the whole look and feel of the page in mind. That can really make a difference. I use Photoshop for image editing. Here's a tip. Not many PC owners realize that when they click the "Print Screen" button on their keyboard a copy of the screen is copied to the clipboard. That can now be pasted into a graphics program and edited.

I'm having oodles of trouble with this. I created a header using Picasa out of photos.. but when i upload it to blogger.. the text doesn't show, nor the cropping. Although when i look at the picture saved on my computer.. it's there.. Any chance you could take a look? Thanks so much

good post, the problem with most newbies, and I gotta still put myself in that category, is getting up the nerve to mess with what we already got---but as you have told us time and time again, first creat a backup, and after that one can pretty much work without fear, and let ones curiosity go wild===as one can always sayh ooops and go back to what we have on backup. now where did I see that pic I wanted to make my header---???
