How To Increase Web Traffic with Keyword Questions

0

I’m going to let you in on a secret today on how to increase web traffic. Using keyword questions is an easy way that I found late last year to build traffic. What am I talking about? Well, read on if you want to increase your web site traffic a bit.

I’d never say this will bring you a ton of traffic. My experience has shown this brings a modest amount of search engine traffic. It’s a perfectly viable way to increase search engine traffic, and you know what that means right? Better chances at increasing clicks on your ads, which is exactly what has happened for me. Note, please see my post on Where Does Web Site Traffic Come From? to understand the variety of methods traffic can be obtained.

What is it?

Keyword Questions collects what questions people are asking and provides a nice interface for you to tap this information. I used it for this post right here, so I’ll make an example of it.

You can use this tool to help you craft a post to address these questions being asked by users. For instance, the main topic of this post is ‘traffic’, so by performing a search for that keyword in the Keyword Questions interface, I find the 5th item reads ‘How to increase web traffic’. Seems like a winner, but it’s very low on the number of times asked.

That’s ok, this is only an example, there are plenty more questions to ask and answer via a post like this. This method does, after all, help you to increase your web site traffic if you can rank the post well.

What I’ve found

Those of you more curious folks may have checked out my links page. This has been there the entire time, yet I’m not sure if anyone has caught on to it. I’ve used this site with modest results on the following posts: (link to the post, and the keyword I used)

What the hell is a Blogger and what does the word Blogger mean? – Blogger

In what year was the first computer invented? – computer

What is Cache – How to Clear or Delete Cache – cache

Why Censorship Is Good – censorship

Where Is Santa Claus Right Now? – santa

You see, each post I put out now is done with a consult to the Keyword Questions site. Based on the topic I’m writing about, perhaps there is a good way to title the post that will help answer a specific, commonly asked question.

What else?

Not only does this force you to take a harder look at the way you create your post title, but you’ll also notice that I’ve frequently used the same phrase (how to increase web traffic) throughout this post. I’m trying to show Google that I have the content to answer this question.

The higher you can rank in Google for the phrase, the more traffic you’re likely to see. So it stands to reason that the less competition you have for the phrase, the easier your job will be. However you’ll find there is a direct correlation to the number of advertisers and number of existing responses to a given question. That’s the competition, and it’s your job to beat them.

This is one method to increase web traffic

When I type in ‘how to increase web traffic‘, I see a number of variations on the phrase, a few exact matches, and a number of advertiser ads going down the side.

After I post this up and make it live, my next steps will be to get a buzz going about this post. I’ll bookmark it around and promote it a bit, and then let it go. Hopefully, I’ve done a good job in Google’s eyes and it will begin to climb the results for my chosen phrase.

Please share this post on how to increase web traffic by using keyword questions with others. It would certainly help others that might be struggling to see any traffic going through their site, and with the level of competition I’ll have for this phrase, I’ll certainly need your help to get it ranked up there.

I hope this sheds some light on a few things for you and helps you to increase your web traffic levels after a few weeks of using these methods. Let me know how things go!
