LinkListings.net is a link directory site that you can submit your web site into to help your web site get more exposure. The link directory also allows you to submit articles as well.
As you are probably aware, Google and other search engines count links from external websites to your own web site as a vote. The more votes you have, the more Google will consider your site a greater resource for whatever topic it may be, thusly increasing your natural search engine generated traffic numbers.
LinkListings.net allows anyone to submit an article, or a link to a web site to help with the promotion of a web site. When you submit a link or article into the directory, your linked site will benefit from my efforts as LinkListings.net PageRank increases over time.
Of course, not all links make it in. LinkListings does not accept links or articles that contain hate, spam, redirect or doorway pages. The site must also not be under construction. If it is, you might want to think about finishing it before you start promoting it. 
How to Add a Link or Article
To add a link or article into the directory, simply navigate to the category you want your link to appear in. When you are on a category page, the top navigation menu will display an ‘Add Site’ and ‘Add Article’ link. Choose the appropriate one and fill out the form that displays.
For example, let’s say you run a blog that specializes in humor. You might find that the ‘Entertainment’ category fits your needs, but when you look at the sub-categories in the Entertainment area, you won’t see a ‘Humor’ category. It’s just not there. If you feel it should be there, you can use the ‘Suggest Category’ link to let me know you think I’m missing a category.
However, a little more hunting reveals there is a Humor category under the ‘Recreation’ category. In fact, there isn’t a single link in that category at the time I’m writing this, so the first person to submit a link into that category will get the entire year as a featured link for free.
That’s right, you’ll get prime placement in the Humor category, or any category for that matter that doesn’t have a link yet, for the entire year because you were the first to submit into the category.
You’ll be the first link in the list the entire year and you’ll stand out from everyone else in that category.
Help Yourself and Help Me
I’ll be promoting each and every category in the Link Listings link directory. It may take me some time to get to the directory where you have placed your link, and as such, you can help my efforts by submitting the page that displays your link to various social bookmarking sites. You can twitter about it, write a blog post about your link in the directory and show it off to your visitors. In fact, why not invite them to include their link as well?
The more you help me, the more it will help you, and I appreciate any help I can get from you helpful people. This is my labor of love and I’ll be working hard to get this link directory’s traffic levels up to push visitors to your web sites. I hope you find it beneficial and help me spread the word.

Ankit, have you bookmarked any of the pages that your show up on? If you bookmark them, it will help get the site going even faster. Otherwise you’ll be waiting for me to get around to it, and it will only be me. The more people that bookmark various pages, the faster, and bigger the site will become.

Back to you banner quickly… I like the graphic element located top/right of this page – the “Wayne John Blogger Help + Assistance” graphic. Why don’t I take that and create an appropriate/correct size banner for our page?
And to my last comment… it had to be said. Just think about how no one thought the internet would be used by anyone other than “geeks”; and wasn’t facebook first set up for colleges and sharing info between students? Now look at that.
I think you have a great URL for the type of site you’ve created. That’s part of the value I see.

I’ve been working on displaying the number of items under a category, but what ended up happening with the display caused me to rethink and find a better solution for that.

I guess you can say the site isn’t ready for strolling around in it just yet, but more for finding a category that fits your site and add your link to it. I could have perhaps toned down the excitement in the post title a little. lol
Yup, it’s a brand spanking new site. I could have pre-loaded it with all kinds of links and gave it the appearance of having high volumes of traffic. Instead, I decided to allow it to grow organically. See what happens.
I’m expecting by the end of the year to have each category filled, and the site starting to receive a modest amount of search traffic from my efforts.
It’s a seed site. I’ve planted it to allow it to grow. And, best of all, it doesn’t take much time out of my day to manage. Leaving me more time to promote various categories that are filled up with a good amount of links and articles.
I can appreciate that this site may not look like much right now, and that’s the first year plan, get it to that point. You can help me out and help yourself out if you want to. I’ll be performing upgrades throughout the year as well.

To Demeur… there has to be a number of people willing to sign up in the early stages for anything to grow. If we all felt that an empty space meant no potential, then nothing would ever take off!
All sillyness aside The first time I went there it was like going into an empty banquet hall for the first time. Nobody there! They tried to do something like that up here in Seattle with each neighborhood to have it’s own web space. Again only problem – nobody there and no posts. If it doesn’t pick up links it’s dead. This wasn’t your site was it Wayne?
Vanea, you need to be able to do this type of stuff yourself if you’re going to be running a blog. I can only show you and explain, I don’t have time to spend promoting your blog for you! I’ll do what I can here and there, but this is something you need to work out on your own.
