One of the best things about living in Southern California is that we have the ocean, the desert, and the mountains to entertain ourselves with. Yesterday, my neighbors and I took our motorcycles out for a nice long ride up to Big Bear for the annual Big Bear Choppers Bike Run event held at Big Bear Lake California.
We got a late start due to hitting the 2008 Ink and Iron event at the Queen Mary in Long Beach the night before. I think I found the artist I want to do a large back piece on me…that’s another story. Getting back to the bike run, we met up at Starbucks and left the Anaheim area around 10:00 and made it up to Highland in about an hour. After refueling and getting some more coffee, we started up the hill to the lake.
There were rains a few weeks ago, so all the flowers were in bloom and it really made the air sweet smelling. A nice change from the normally smog filled air we breathe here. It also colored the hills yellow. I didn’t get as many bugs in my face this time around either…perhaps they were busy with all those flowers.
I took some pictures with my new AT&T Tilt phone. So instead of uploading the photos directly to my blog, I decided to sign up with a photo sharing service. I decided on ComBoost.com. Here are photo’s I took with my new phone and the widget provided from ComBoost.

You have a nice site! Thanks for commenting here!
The bikes in the slide show really sweet but the sweeties is the girl posting in yellow shirt..
This was a great trip! My husband and I had a great time. The gatherings were the best. We made sure to bring a pop up canopy to rest under from the sun and wow, we had so many that dropped in for the shade with us. I have some websites! But wow, what an amazing time we had. Bill and Tom, thanks for the great jokes! see you next time!
I think you’re referring to the Spyder. It costs around 15k. Glad you liked the pix!
Wow. That’s a very nice ride. I wonder how much does it cost for that big bike? The one that looks like a ride on starwars movie.:)
Er, bike, as in pedal power for that second paragraph…lol
Not used to making that distinction yet…
I had an advantage though….my ride to work was 25 miles one way. So at least 50 miles each day I went to work, and I rode nearly every day to save money and make the bike pay for itself with the money saved on gas.
Now I’m going even further and (trying) to ride a bike to work each day. My commute is only 8 miles now, but no gas usage sounds really good to me.
You ride in the winter?
13k miles in the first year? damn! that’s very cool. Yeah I always wanted a bike, but it was never the practical thing to do…then my lovely Saab blew an engine rod, a nice softball size hole right thru the oil pan. So now it sits in my garage and I ride the kawasaki everywhere. I’m in Denver
Sturgis would be awesome! Lots of eye candy, and bikes too. heh heh.
I hear you on the work bullshit. It’s retarded. :/
I ride a Suzuki Boulevard (cruiser style) C50T. The first year I put 13,000 miles on it, lol. I love it!
The ride was fantastic and I can’t wait for next year to do this one again. This Saturday we are talking about heading out the Joshua tree National Park for a ride through the park. A total of about 300 miles. nice ride.
Where are you located? I’ve been considering a x-country ride, coast to coast. And Sturgis this year, but I may have to cancel Sturgis due to work. Damn this work thing….
Sounds like an awesome ride, and those are some SICK looking bikes! What do you ride? I’m on an old Kawasaki street bike myself. I would love to do a road trip on the bike to So Cal…
