I was going to mention that chanting with a bone in my nose seems to drum up more visitors and clicks, but then I realize that those visitors expect dancing clowns and elephants too, so perhaps that isn’t actually helpful and I should put the nose bone away.

you forgot something very important, Wayne. The invocation of spiritual entities also plays an important role in making people click on the ads. ok, i’m just messin around. this post is very useful. it just reminded me of some things i’m not doing. keep up the great work man. you deserve it.

Hi Wayne, feels like forever since I had some real time to blog! I know you can relate to that…

I see that the problem of adding links is a thing of the past. I just bookmarked the post “get indexed by these search engines” – couple of things within that post that I haven’t tried yet – Google Alerts being one.

This is another very helpful, easy to follow post Wayne! Thank you for sharing.

I also have to tell you that by my reading your blog, I was able to quickly think of a solution to part of a clients brief I was working on this week. I used the principals of what I learnt from the “sand box” post and created a private, invitation only blog where the client can share rosters, etc with volunteers. They were instantly impressed with the idea – being a community legal centre that runs on a low budget, they didn’t have the cash for a secure area to be built on their domain, and the blog is free! Ticks all boxes (so far – touch wood!)

I know that’s a bit off-topic for this post – but I had to share it here on your blog!! THANK YOU Wayne!

One thing I do is to not display ads for the first few weeks a post is out. I decided to not bother my regular readers with any ads, since that is not why they come here, and I don’t want to try to make money from them. I just appreciate that they find some value in what I write.

After two weeks, the ads will show, and that is when I figure regular search engine traffic is starting to kick in. Otherwise, I would agree with you, and you are right saying so.

And I couldn’t agree more about the number of ads. It’s rather apparent what you’re after when you have three ad unit working for you.

Hey very useful post meanwhile there is a basic thing which people miss here. Putting up lots of adsense unit doesn’t mean that your revenue will increase, it’s better to have one strong ad unit instead of 3 poor ad units..
This is well tried and tasted trick, moreover keep changing your adsense color every week, else your regular readers will get ad blindness…
